Over 325 of Asia Pacific channel partners have gathered at the annual Asia Pacific Intel Solutions Summit, held this year in Macau. The Summit, held over three days, provides Intel’s partner community with the latest business insights to create effective solutions for businesses and consumers across the region. The Intel Technology Partner (ITP) program saw considerable growth within across the Asia Pacific region during the past year as Gold and Platinum membership number reached 9,279, one of the highest globally.
“Having the largest partner ecosystem in the global Intel partner program is extremely important to us, we have focused on fostering partner relationships and providing real value for our partners in the region,” said Suryanarayanan B - Director Sales, Intel South Asia. “It’s exciting that these efforts have paid off and that our partner ecosystem continues to grow.”
At the Summit keynote, Kamil Hasan, director of Intel’s Reseller Channel Organization in Asia Pacific, outlined Intel’s focus areas for 2013 and beyond: “As Intel brings more products into the market in 2013, we want to enable the channel to be in the best position to participate and compete in the compute continuum – whether it be desktop and server products based on Intel’s newest 4th Generation Core processors, or the latest Ultrabooks and tablets. “With a range of new programs that Intel will be offering this year, we are committed to providing the right support to the channel to reach their customers,” Mr. Hasan further added.
The ITP program is designed to help train, support and position channel partners for sustained growth, by both supporting their current business models and helping them identify and capture new opportunities in the market. Over the past year, Intel has evolved its training programs to deliver dynamic interactive experiences of new and emerging technologies and solutions, helping partners get closer to Intel’s compute continuum both face-to-face and online.
Daven Chang, Director of Pluto Technology Pte Ltd., Singapore, who is attending the summit said: “Intel has helped increase the productivity of my team by 60 per cent by using remote login software which has helped staff identify computer issues in customer desktops before going to the location, so they can now go with the right tools to make the required repairs. Intel’s support has also allowed us to make a bigger contribution.
There is a government initiative project called ‘Infocomm Development Activity’ which we have been involved in since 2005. Without Intel’s support on this project throughout the years, we wouldn’t have been able to offer the amount of desktops bundles we have to low income families so their children can be educated.”
Intel’s strong product roadmap and commitment to continuing investment in the ITP program has given partners confidence to invest in growing their own businesses. The ITP program delivers information and resources to help keep Intel channel partners across the Asia Pacific competitive and enable them to take advantage of new product opportunities including the Intel 4th Generation Core processor family, latest Ultrabook innovations, smartphone and tablet reference designs and product momentum, Next Unit of Computing (NUC) opportunities and the latest in embedded technologies including digital signage and point-of-sales systems.
