Deutsche Asset Management India announced the launch of DWS Arbitrage Fund, an open ended equity scheme. The New Fund Offer period is from August 13 to August 22, 2014. The fund will invest in arbitrage opportunities that may exist in the equity and derivatives markets. The fund expects to predominantly invest in the Cash Futures Arbitrage strategy i.e buying a stock in the cash market and selling it in the futures, resulting in a hedge where the fund portfolio has locked in a spread and is not affected by the price movements in the spot and futures markets.

The Fund being an equity oriented fund has a lower tax incidence for investors, compared to debt and liquid funds i.e. with respect to dividend distribution and capital gains tax.

Suresh Soni, Managing Director & CEO, Deutsche Asset Management India said, “The DWS Arbitrage Fund is an ideal investment solution for investors, seeking returns through arbitrage opportunities that exist in the equity and derivatives markets.”
