Financial Services Secretary Rajiv Takru on Sunday said that the government will soon notify the increased equity exposure limit for LIC (Life Insurance Corporation of India) to 30% after getting approval from IRDA (Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority), according to a media report.

At present, the equity investment cap for LIC is 10% in a listed company.

In February, the insurance regulator allowed LIC and other large private insurers to invest up to 12%-15% in a listed company, depending on the size of the controlled funds which include only non-unit linked funds and shareholder funds.
