Maruti Suzuki extends production shutdown till April 14, 2020

Earlier the shutdown was till March 31, 2020. SMG manufactures cars on a contract basis for Maruti Suzuki.

Maruti Suzuki mentioned to the exchanges today that the company has been informed by Suzuki Motor Gujarat Pvt Limited (SMG) that pursuant to the latest Government directive on the COVID-19 situation, they will be extending their plant shutdown till April 14, 2020. Earlier the shutdown was till March 31, 2020. SMG manufactures cars on a contract basis for Maruti Suzuki.

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. stock is trading lower by more than 2% on the NSE.

Stock view:
Maruti Suzuki India Ltd is currently trading at Rs4,847.85 down by Rs186.35 or 3.7% from its previous closing of Rs5,034.20 on the BSE.
The scrip opened at Rs5,051 and has touched a high and low of Rs5,119.95 and Rs4,751 respectively. So far 12,71,184 (NSE+BSE) shares were traded on the counter. The current market cap of the company is Rs1,52,073.11cr.
