Adani Ports is top Nifty gainer and trading at Rs 382.1 per share, up by 1.72% while Hindustan Unilever is top Nifty loser and trading at Rs 1,190.65 per share, down by 0.75%.
Bank Nifty is trading at 24,119 level, up by 145 points. Bank stocks have been pushing up the major indices in the market. On the broader markets, BSE Mid-cap index is trading at 14,973 level, up by 0.32% while BSE Small-cap index is trading at 15,433 level, up by 0.29%.
The rupee opened at 64.04 per US Dollar on Wednesday. It had closed at 64.09 per US Dollar in previous trading session.
The US stocks ended Tuesday session with notable gains, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average and Nasdaq turning in their best session in months. The Dow Jones surged 196 points to finish at 21,900. The S&P 500 climbed 24 points to close at 2,453. The Nasdaq Composite Index rallied 84 points to close at 6,297.
Asian stocks have edged up in early Wednesday trade, tracking gains on Wall Street. Japan’s Nikkei 225 has climbed 102 points and China’s Shanghai Composite rose 3 points. Meanwhile, Hong Kong’s stock exchange has cancelled morning trade due to approach of tropical cyclone Hato.
