Indian benchmark indices extended their gains for the second consecutive session on November 3, 2026. Sensex rallied 1,225.07 points (1.62%) to close at 76,917.85, while Nifty advanced 370.05 points (1.58%) to 23,810.85. FMCG, Realty and Private Bank stocks led the rally, with Nestle India, Tata Consumer Products and Asian Paints among the top gainers. Easing crude oil prices, continued FII buying and improved global sentiment supported the market, while PSU Banks, Metals and Energy stocks ended lower.

Indian stock markets ended sharply higher on November 2, 2026, with Sensex rising 1.66% to 75,692.78 and Nifty gaining 1.68% to 23,440.80. Reliance Industries surged 11.60% following record Q2 FY27 earnings, while Energy, Infrastructure and Metal stocks led sectoral gains. Softer crude oil prices, foreign fund inflows and positive global cues further supported market sentiment.

SEBI has recommended removing the 12.5% long-term capital-gains tax on foreign investors and making domestic mutual-fund switches tax-free after a one-year holding period. The nonbinding pre-budget proposals are awaiting a final government decision.
