EduBridge, a Mumbai-based skill development platform that provides services to youth in semi-urban and rural areas, raised $2.5 million (Rs 17.1 crore) in a series A round led by Insitor Impact Asia Fund and Acumen Fund. The firm plans to use the money to expand operations to Gujarat, Odisha, Jharkhand and Bihar, as well as strengthening their existing presence. (ET)

Delhi-based retail solutions provider, Freedom Smart Labs Ltd., has raised around $145K (INR 1 Cr.) in seed round of funding from Kapil Goel, managing director of retail chain DCS Group. Serial Entrepreneur, Yogesh Huja, founded Freedom Smart Labs Ltd to provide IoT innovation in retail. Its wifi-based retail solution product Freedom.desi is designed to help retail outlets re-target customers, monitor & boost footfall, and provide retailers solutions for in-store engagement. (INC42)

Fintech startup Chillr has launched a mass payment and mass collect product for enterprises and startups, aiming to eliminate the distributors or middle men involved in payments from companies to vendors or cashback to consumers. The amount in payments could range from a few thousand to 35 lakh rupees on a daily basis, but the company is working on increasing the limit. (ET)

Network security and visibility startup ThousandEyes announced today that it closed a $35 million investment led by Tenaya Capital. The startup said the investment will be used to expand its technology, which “gives modern businesses the ability to see their now borderless network,” across North America. (VENTUREBEAT)

JetSmarter raised a $25 million Series C round from the Saudi royal family, an existing investor, bringing the Fort Lauderdale, Florida-based startup’s total funding to $47.8 million. JetSmarter is a private jet startup with a mobile app connecting travelers to private jets in real-time. It also has a membership program. (SKIFT)

Soon after language learning app Duolingo launched services in India with a Hindi app to teach Indians English, Luis von Ahn, founder of Duolingo, said the US-based startup is scouting for opportunities in Indonesia, Pakistan and other emerging markets. (ET)

Online payments startup Stripe on Wednesday set out to give internet entrepreneurs around the world behind-the-scenes business benefits of locating in the United States. The San Francisco-based finance tech firm which handles customer payments for websites or mobile apps unveiled its new service called Atlas. The Atlas service lets entrepreneurs anywhere set up US corporations, bank accounts and more without ever having to leave their home countries. (TOI)
