Vardhman Acrylics climbs 3% after resumption of manufacturing operations at Jhagadia plant

The production at this company’s unit in Gujarat had stopped from April 19, 2021, due to workers strike.

Vardhman Acrylics Limited has resumed manufacturing operations at the Jhagadia plant in Gujarat from Monday. The production at this unit had stopped from April 19, 2021, due to workers strike.

“Workers at the Plant of the Company, situated at Jhagadia (Gujarat), have not resumed their duties since today morning without giving any prior intimation or assigning any reasons therefor. This has lead to disruption in the operations at the Plant resulting in stoppage of Production.

This action of the workers may be in relation to the matter of enhancement of wages and change in working conditions which is under conciliation before the Assistant Labour Commissioner, Bharuch,” company had intimated in its regulatory filing on April 19, 2021.

At around 10.07 AM, Vardhman Acrylics Ltd was trading at Rs65.85 per piece up by Rs1.85 or 2.89% from its previous closing of Rs64 per piece on the NSE.
