BADRA ESTATES AND INDUSTRIES LIMITED ANNUAL REPORT 2006-2007 MANAGEMENT DISCUSSION AND ANALYSIS COFFEE: As reported in the previous Balance Sheet, coffee prices had increased, however the crop picked was only 544 tons. as against the estimated crop of 645 tons. The average price realized is far better than prices received in the previous years. During the year prices have fluctuated because of volatile market conditions. The next financial year also looks encouraging. The average price realized for the coffee crop for the last two years are as follows: Year Amount 2005-2006 Rs.80.78 2006-2007 Rs.79.66 AWARDS: The Arabica coffee from your companys Bettadakhan Jagalikal Estate was adjudged as The Winner of The Fine Cup Award for The Finest Arabica coffee. Badra BHR Estate Robusta Coffee was the Winner of Best Estate Branded Coffee and 2nd prize for Best Robusta Kaapi Royale-2007. Guddethota Estate coffee was the Winner of Best Robusta Coffee of Chikmagalur region at the Compeitions organised by Coffee Board during February 2007 and May 2007 at Bangalore and at California, USA, respectively. EXPORT: During the year the company was able to export 222 MT as against 344 MT during the previous year. RUBBER: Rubber crop harvested during the year is 36000 Kgs as against 54629 Kgs during the previous year. The average price realized is Rs.86.91 per Kg as against Rs.57.77 per Kg during the previous year. CURING WORKS: The company has cured 911 Tons of coffee during the year as against 736 Tons coffee cured during the previous year. OTHER PRODUCE: The pepper crop harvested during the year is 25590 Kgs as against 30262 Kgs during the previous year. The price realized is Rs.82.72 per Kg as against Rs.58.14 per Kg during the previous year. The Areca crop harvested during the year is 43403 Kgs as against 44380 Kgs during the previous year. The average price realized is Rs.104.74 per kg as against Rs.85.26 per kg during the previous year.
